ooc i. This is a personal page for Avery's profile and journey, as well as to share her lore. Thank you for viewing! ooc ii. Her backstory combines elements from FFXIV and D&D. To create a cohesive narrative from these two different worlds, certain aspects will be based on my headcanons as I have to do some creative bridging. Aside from her place of birth and some minor tweaks to the Viera tradition, her profile and motivations strictly follow the world settings of Faerûn, with no connection to Eorzea. ooc iii. I am unavailable for role-playing. Between life, work, and commissions, I simply do not have the capacity to. I'd like to dedicate some remaining free time for tabletop.

backstory Avery grew up in Neverwinter Wood—a forest located in the far north of Faerûn, where Viera and Wood Elves coexist in harmony. Having both suffered losses in their own respective wars, they forged a bond through grief and a mutual love for their wilderness home. They came together to rebuild their lives, and long have they succeeded. However, Avery has always felt like an outsider. She was born with a white marking on the bridge of her nose, signifying a gift for magic; a gift that would gradually isolate her in a community where martial prowess predominates. While her peers were almost natural with hunting and foraging, her talents lay in conjuring ice magic drawn from the Weave. During a gnoll attack in her childhood, fear triggered her to unleash a violent hailstorm that slaughtered the monsters but also left her friends gravely wounded. Since then, the discovery and unpredictability of her magic has made people wary. After reaching adulthood at eighteen, Avery made a perilous decision to defy the "Green Word", a code which forbids any contact with the outside world. Transgression meant exile, a fate she would risk for mere hope. She longed to discover what was beyond the forest, and if a place existed for someone like her. She eagerly waited for the arrival of summer, for it was when her brother, Khaine Aspen—a respected Wood-warder, would return home. His role as the forest protector afforded him some knowledge about the outside world, gleaned from encounters with travelers and intruders. Out of brotherly love, he agreed to sneak her away from Neverwinter Wood, and spent a month long escorting her to a capital known as Silverymoon—a city famous for its pervading tradition of magic, and is currently home to many wizards and sorcerers.By sheer luck, Avery soon found refuge with a sorceress named Elowen Greywisp in Silverymoon, a human who offered her shelter and food out of fascination, not kindness. It was unusual to come across a Viera outside of their secluded forest homes, let alone one who could tap into the Weave. Intrigued by this encounter, Elowen took upon herself the role of a mentor and subjected Avery through a demanding array of magical training. Once she was convinced of Avery's potential, Elowen penned a reference letter to Arkhen's Invocatorium, a school of sorcery where she herself had once been a student. This impetus encouraged Avery to dedicate herself wholly to her craft, and not only did she make new friends in school, she learned control and unraveled new powers. After her formal education, Avery briefly served as a scribe under the Carmont household. At times, she would travel alongside Elowen, venturing out from the city to aid her mentor's research. These experiences gradually built up Avery's sense of independence and confidence, pushing her to begin her own journey across the vast of Faerûn as an adventurer.

Trivia...
Avery Aspen is her given name, but she sometimes uses the nickname Peri Averie, a common practice among Viera who renounce their original identities.
She can suffer from frostbite if she channels her magic directly from her hands for too long, so she almost always prefer to cast spells using her staff.
She hates being unkempt or dirty. Despite traveling a lot, she always makes sure to be well-groomed.
Her skills in potion-making and cooking are painfully lacking. She fumbles with ingredients, misjudges the right amount, or forgets key herbs. Her poor memory for similar-looking plants often leads to undesirable results...
She has a fear of wolves, she was once attacked by a pack of them during a survival training lesson.
She finds pixies incredibly annoying and wants absolutely nothing to do with them.

Khaine Aspen,
Avery's older brother, though quiet and fiercely reserved, harbors a deep love for his families despite being away from home most of the time.As a Wood-warder, he works to drive out hobgoblins, gnolls, and bugbears from the woods, as well as protect its ancient sites from treasure seekers. After guiding Avery out of the forest, it is unclear if he succeeded in returning to Neverwinter Woods or if he has also been deemed an exile. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Elowen Greywisp,
is an esteemed human sorceress in her late hundreds who took in Avery. Her true age remains a mystery as she regularly consumes special elixirs to maintain her vitality.Obsessed with Vampires and their immortality, she has authored no small amount of books about them, but none have achieved popularity. Her goals are ever-changing and rarely understood, no one can quite keep up, and yet Avery continues to visit her and help out with strange errands.

Fëanor Elros,
a proud Sun Elf of noble blood, met Avery during their school years. They were each other's first love, but their bond was severely tested when Fëanor returned to his homeland. His family, convinced of their racial superiority, could never accept Avery.Long years of enforced obedience and repression ultimately bred rebellion, pushing him away from his family and into bitter isolation. Now, he walks down an unruly path—some see him as a vigilante, others as something darker...
